1.5 down, 256up Cable from my friends house where I do most my internet surfing. No broadband at home because of where I live and a modem is unusable at this point.

Of course we have registered down speeds that actually excede what they say we have... so ha on them.

LAN at work, its pretty fast and we can download but we have no way to get any downloaded files home without breaking the rules.

0.5 mbps both ways ADSL (Telia). It sure changed the way I use my computers when I for the last time unplugged the 33.6 modem. It's not so much the speed as beeing always connected that makes the big difference.
Said to be DHCP, but I've had the same IP since day 1, so it's no prob running servers without dnstogo and such solutions.

I'm on Cable, costs about 45 Euro each month. Download speed 480 kbs, upload 128 kbps. Most of the time it works fine.

I am on dialup and the network is the LAN.

Broadband in Australia is very expensive and unreliable. Internet cable isn't available in my area and ADSL is.

Broadband availability is still limited in here in this country despite the advertising for it.

I am not going to apply for Broadband in the near future until broadband improves with wider availability and cheaper.

  16. I'm on cable, and I constantly register 5mb down 2mb up speeds. I don't know alot about internet services, but I do know that's damn fast.

Is DSL the same as ADSL in the UK?
    If so, I'm on DSL.
£19.99 a month, been flawless (that's $28 when I first got it in Nov 2002 or, due to the superb exchange rate for the pound/dollar right now, $40 )

I use ESP not ISP. I use psychic willpower and telepathy to transmit to and from the net.

I have no idea what the hell that means but I'm guessing it's some 'penis extension' thing, no?

Yes, just like upgrading from 1x straight to 8x burning.
How is it going by the way?

  28. ADSL for me.

They advertise it as (1500 Down and 256 Up), I actually push about (1300 Down and 786 Up) and a little higher in the evenings. I'll have a second line running by the end of next week, and then we get to play with bindings and other such frivolity.

$49.00 for the first line, $25.00 for the second line.

And by May, they'll be 1.5Mb SDSL lines. Oh wow... :P
