Hi all,
What I'm trying to do is create a menu on a VCD that has buttons that link to sub-menu's. For example, I have, say, 8 video clips. 4 are of one event, 4 of another. I would like to create a menu which has two pictures. One would link to a second menu that would have 4 pictures of the first four video clips. The second button on the main menu would link to another screen of 4 buttons that are for the other 4 video clips.
I'm not that bothered about having hotspots or anything like that; access to the menus via the number buttons on the remote would be fine, although if anyone knows a way to make hotspots on a VCD menu I am looking to do that at some point too.
If anyone knows of a way that I can achieve this multiple menu effect, please let me know. All help is very much appreciated.
TIA

How to make VCD or SVCD with Menus, Chapters and Entrypoints
good luck. -
Yeah you can find a lot of infos in the above link. I learned from there myself.
Anyway just to give you an idea.
This can be easily achieve by using VCDEasy. If you dont have it yet, there is probably a link on this forum under the TOOLS.
1. By using any image editor, create your Main Menu e.g.
1 - First Movie
2 - Second Movie
Of course you can choose your background image and put any picture you want to represent First Movie and Second Movie. Then save image as Bitmap or JPEG etc.
2. Again using image editor, create another menu (sub) for the "First Movie" e.g.
1 - Movie Clip 1
2 - Movie Clip 2
3 - Movie Clip 3
4 - Movie Clip 4
As mentioned earlier, you can put any image to represent also the 4 movie clips.
Do the same for the "Second Movie" menu
When done, you must have 3 images now, i.e.
Main Menu
Menu for "First Movie" and
Menu for "Second Movie"
Forget about how to link them as of yet.
3. Open VCDEasy, Tools, MPEG stills, load each of the 3 images you've created to make your MPEG stills. choose VCD or SVCD depending on your encoded movie.
4. When done, you must have now 3 MPEG stills
5. On VCDEasy load the 3 MPEG stills + your 8 video clips
6. Now create all the links as indicated in your menus to the actual movie clips under VCDEasy Interactivity options.
This is very simple to figure out. You can find your way then. Good Luck!
You can also add your INTRO movie (if you have) prior to the main menu.
Oh.. Be sure to check if CDRDAO is working properly cause burning your BIN/CUE with NERO will disregard interactivity menus. So you must do it w/ VCDEASY/CDRDAO
