  1. Ive got a svcd mpeg2 file that im coverting,a little messing about with options etc....

Now the mpeg2 shows up a combing affect in tmpgenc, now i now that i need to use the deinterlace setting under advanced and encode the mpeg2 as progressive.

What i want to know is which deinterlace filter do i use..... as theres alot to choose from.

    Even field
    Odd field
    Even-odd field
    double

    Which one is right??

Also is there any way using CCE and deinterlace as tmpgenc takes alot longer?

    Haku,

Maybe there are no responses because there is no "right" answer. When you deinterlace, you always compromise the video data by averaging, doubling, removing, etc. Your best bet is to try a short sample of each filter, and see what looks most acceptable to you.

The general rule is still, don't deinterlace unless you have to!
