  1. I am having some trouble creating svcd's on dvd-r

I use tmpeg to encode the svcds to MPEG-2 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1700kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 224kbps. Then I merge the mpegs to one file (if they are multi parts)

I preview the file and everything seems fine.

When I make the disk in Ulead, the audio is out of sync. I make sure the settings match those of tmpegs (MPEG-2 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1700kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 224kbps), and it still is out of sync. Can Someone please help?

I also tried using the Spruce_up, and when I add media asset, it freezes at about 20% then just stops adding. (sometimes Spruce Up works and sometimes it doesnt, even though all files are encoded the same MPEG-2 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1700kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 224kbps)

Can sonmeone please help me out, or provide a better way of doing this.

    TIA

PS I am using ULEAD dvdws 1.3

Most authoring programs require an m2v stream and mpa stream to import corrrectly. If your using an mp2 stream, rename it to mpa.

Yes,DVD authoring software is generally made to work from elementary streams not an mpg.

I am having the samer problem. I have used ulead to burn to DVD and my movie is also about a second out of sync. I tried just creating the VIDEO_TS files and burning with nero. I end up with the same out of sync issues. Can someone please offer a suggestion. I have been at this for about a week!!

  7. I finally got it to work last night. I split the audio from the video. Then I used IFOedit. I used the author new video (not sure if thats exactly what its called). it created the vobs perfectly (unlike the others) Its amazing how a piece of freeware works better than software I bought. I then took it a step further and created my own chapters.txt, and also loaded them into IFOedit....compiled and burned..works fine...only problem was, I think I created too many chapter points..I have about 75 chapter points about 3 minutes apart...oh well...better than out of sync ausio.

still looking for a better way

I agree, but it's also amazing how people have bought the idea that software that you pay for is better than the free stuff, when time and time again the opposite is proved to be true.
