Is there a possibility to convert a videofile created with windows moviemaker to a format that is readable for a dvd player and if so what program should I use ??
Already tried TMPGenc, latest version, but that doesn't seem to support wmv files.

TMPGEnc does convert WMV, do you have the correct codecs installed ? or is the file protected ?
Test your system see what you can edit/play
