  1. Okay, I installed PowerVCR II to test it out and everything worked fine. So I wanted to compare it to WinDVD...I installed and tested it out as well. First, I lost the ability to playback Mpeg2 files. I could hear the audio and just got green and purple colors or a black screen. Mpeg1 played fine for a few tests while I converted in real time. Then my video started playing back slow while the audio played normal. I put a few of the files over on my slower system and they play fine. I uninstalled WinDVD, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to reinstall PowerVCR II?
    Hello.

  3. No, I haven't tried to re-install that yet. I guess I could, I didn't think that would have anything to do with it. I won't be able to until later, though. Thanks.

  4. okay, I un-installed and re-installed PowerVCR II and still have the same problem. I removed PCTV, hoping that maybe that would resolve any conflict. No luck. This seems to only be with MPEG files, not avi, they play fine. I did notice that on my slower system the decoder that WMP is using to play the file is just "MPEG VIDEO DECODER" while on my problem machine it is either using INDEO or LIGOS codecs. I don't know if that matters or not. HELP!!

  5. Well, I think that I narrowed my problem down more to Windows Media Player more than anything else since the files seem to play in other media players fine. So, now I've got to iron that problem out. I un-installed MP 7.1 and downloaded MP9, it played Mpeg1 files okay but not Mpeg2. So, I installed Nemo and now it will play both files, AFTER it downloads codecs??? Why!?! BUT, my Mpeg1 files are playing slow again! ARGGHHHHHH!!!! Why does WMP 7 on my Millenium machine not try to download codecs and plays everything fine??
