  1. Hi,

    I converting a DVD-9 to DVD-5 following this guide: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/maestro2.htm

I still need to remove some extra features to make the DVD-5 fit. I want to remove the "making of" feature that is located in the VTS_04 files. This making of can be access from the extra features menu of the dvd. I want to make it so nothing happens if you choose this option, or maybe show a short clip then return to the menu. But how?

  2. I don't know if it can be done...

Maybe if you convert a short .avi file (like, 30 secs) to mpg2 using TMPEG or Ulead DVD Workshop (I use DVD Workshop and my DVDs work on EVERY standalone player I know, even on my dad's shitty Samsung DVD-511) and convert it to a .vob file... and then rename the .vob file so its name matches with the name of the "making of" file...

Then, substitute the "making of" .vob with your newly created .vob and voila... it should work, shouldn't it?

I don't know if it can be done, as I said, but if it can, this is the only way I can think of doing it
    I shall show you... ETERNITY

  3. I used the smallest set of IFO/VOB on the dvd (the VTS_05...) and copy them over the the VTS_02...

Now when I select the making of option, I return to the main menu.

I have used the same trick to replace another set of IFO/VOBS and when I choose the coresponding option in the menu, I return to... the chapters menu!

Looks like the "returning point" of the VTS_05 files is relative and not absolute. If I could just know how to change the return point after the vob is execute to the main menu, I could use this set of vobs on any DVD maybe.

Bah, I so dont I have a clue of what I am doing

=> The best solution would be to know how to disable the "Extra/Bonus" option in the main menu. All I really want to do is keep the original main menu, language menu and chapters menu and drop the rest

  4. i understand that you can disable a menu button by using vobedit. you just locate the correct navigation packs and alter the destination (use a different vob id). this will work on a static menu. if you have a motion menu you have no hope. all i would suggest that in ifoedit the extra feature you don't want strip it completely, all id and languages. you will be left witha vob size of 20kb. whan you press the extra features button on the menu you will return back to the menu without anything being played.

this is not foolproof. this has worked for me and it has not.

    best of luck
