I have a couple of Avi files (divx) that i would like to convert to a *.bin file. Later i would like to burn it into an SVCD.
My question is:
- how can you do this (the conversion)
- should i split up the avi file into two parts so it has better quality?
- what software is needed?

Just follow the AVI to SVCD guide. If you use VCDEasy to author the resulting SVCD compliant MPEG file this will give you, you can indeed tell it not to burn, just output the cue/bin for later burning.
