  1. I am trying to burn .mpg Video files onto a CD so that they will replay automatically when inserted into a CD or DVD player. I have tried, VCDEasy, Roxio Easy CD Creator 5, and Nero 5.5.9.14. Each converts the .mpg videos clips into .dat files within an MPEGAV folder. I have written an Autorun.inf file as follows:

    [Autorun]
    open=mplayer2.exe /play /close \MPEGAV\avseq01.dat

    (where the .dat is the name of the .mpg file converted to a .dat file by the program.)

    I then get an "Access Denied..." when I insert the CD.
    What else needs to be included in the Autorun.inf file or in the VCD root directory to make it auto-start when the CD is inserted into a CD or DVD player. I also have a file that I was told to include in the VCD root directory: Start.exe, but I am not sure what to do after that. I realize for most people this is a simple problem, but I would like some help in any event.

    PLEASE help. Thanks. Email: GDSpindel@mindspring.com

    I don't think you can make you're VCD auto-start like that...it has to be enabled on you're dvd player like a opition. my dvd player does'nt have this opition but my fathers does his auto plays vcd but my apex does'nt i don't think there is a file you add or a script you add to you're vcd to make them auto-start. if you're dvd player does'nt have that opition i dont think you can do it. i could be wrong tho.

    hope that helps.

    I notice you just joined up...

    Ok, I'll point you to where to look this time, but ya gotta start using the how-to's, guides, and forum searches that are available on this site. :P (Meant for all NUBES). Otherwise we're wasting bandwidth with reiterations of the same old questions.

    I went a little in depth in an older post. http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112993&highlight=There are a couple of methods, but this one does well for most PC's, and it allows playlists and doesn't require the user to manually search for anything.

    BTW, when you said it didn't autostart you did mean PC didn't you?
    If you meant on a standalone player, it has been documented here and elsewhere that this feature is PLAYER SPECIFIC. You get what you get. If your player starts playing when you put in a VCD, it does. And if it doesn't, it doesn't and there's nothing you can do to change it.
