I have been using Veritas RecordNow since I got my SONY DRU, and it periodically makes costers. There isn't any rhyme or reason to it. It might burn the same thing fine twice, then make a coaster on the third.

I am running an AMD 1700, and burning to ACCU DVDs. I would say I have made about 25 DVDs, and have had 3 or 4 coasters. Has anybody else had this problem with this program?

I have run 5.5.10 Nero too. That version of NERO can do disk to disk copy (I'm 3 for 3 so far), but my backups recorded as data disks don't play on my DVD player.

  2. 3 out of 25 isn't that bad, but my guess is it isn't the fault of RecordNow, rather it's the cheap media. Also, do you have the 1.0f firmware upgrade and do you have the RecordNow DX 4.56 available for the Sony drives?

I would say that it was the fault of the media, but I've had it fail to burn on a RW, then I try it again and it works... odd isn't it?

Same files, same DVD RW... fails first time... works 2nd...

My firmware is up to date... I will check the RecordNow software.

    Thanks

  4. Consider Ulead DVD Moviefactory. Compiles well and I think it makes UDF 1.5 disks - if you want the 1.02 disks that most players like you can burn the VIDEO_TS folder with Nero.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  5. it's the media. accu media is sourced from all over the place, you never know what you're gonna get.

make sure to restart your PC if you are doing a lot of burns back to back. After a while the PC will get exausted and will be more likely to pause or whatnot. Just a thought.
