  1. I have a movie which is labeled as an mp3 file and will not play. It won't come up under TMPGEnc, but will preview under VirtualDub. How do I change this back to an AVI or MPEG? I searched for an answer in the forum, but could not find any info.

    Get GSpot, open file with it and find what the extension should be, it's mislabelled. Then rename extension and open??

    well, it all depends if you have windows setup to show filename extensions (you should have!) or not (the annoying default).

    if not, quickest way is then

    start -> run -> "command"

    then

    cd "folder name of file here" (enter)
    ren "filename".mp3 "filename".avi (enter)
    exit (enter)

    and try loading it again

    if that doesn't work, repeat but swap .avi for .mp3, .mpg for .avi.... etc, with quicktime (.mov), .ASF, etc

    ahh, DOS still has a use!
