For the last couple of months, I have been working on a one-disc xvcd template. I have some settings that I find very good, but I am unsure on the dvd player compatibility issue. My bitrate is VBR with a max of 1150. I am thinking that by having the max bitrate the VCD standard, the xvcds created with the template would, in theory, be compatible with all vcd compatable dvd players. Is this correct, or am I totally wrong? Thanx in advance.

Not all players can properly play VBR MPEG-1 (at least not off a VCD). If I had to guess, I'd say that probably more players can handle high bitrates than VBR.
