I have an avi movie that is in synch and plays perfectly fine, but when I convert it to mpeg2 to make an SVCD, the audio gets slightly out of synch.... what can I do to get the mpeg2 file back in synch? (I've only been able to find guides on how to fix audio synch for avi's, but not for mpeg2 files... pls help

Try running it through Tmpgenc Simple Multiplex, before burning with Nero.

    Works for me!.

u sure that the avi is in sync all the way through before converting? Have u saved the sound as uncompressed wave and interleaved to avi before processing? (ignore the 500ms that sound sync I mentioned that is specific after burning to vcd for my model of dvd player)

  7. okay
    encode whit tmpgenc
go to source range and select only a very small segment to encode
(when you see a dialog in the movie)
and try to calculate the time of the synch error by conting betwenn you see a door clap and when you hear it
    and 1 second is 1000milisec

try some value in the audio gap corect window under the source range window

try many value and you will find the corect fit

to forward the time insert the - before milisec

    ex. forward 15000
    backward -15000

NO!, if your going to do that do it in virtualdub, go to audio interleaving and put figures in for audio delay, then press play in virtual dub. Will see results before encoding. No need to do encoding of small bits of movie to see results

    - u shouldn't be getting probs for sound sync if u have followed the guides and have it synced as an avi, wot sound format u inputting to TMPG? wot fps u going from and to?

  9. A TIP FOR YOU:-

There is a program called Decompressor which you can find in Avi 2 VCD. What the problem is that your Audio is compressed. Even though the .AVI plays perfect on your PC it won't on your VCD/DVD player or whatever you have when you convert it.

The reason your getting the problem is that TMPGEnc doesn't process Compressed audio AVI;s too good so you will Decompress the audio of the file using the program..Im trying to explain it to you as simple as I can because I had to go through that also. So next time when you are about to encode an AVI make sure you decompress the audio. Since I figures it out I really have never had a problem. I hope you understand.. hope it helps...The program is very very Easy to use..try it out..
