  1. which driver do i use for my tibook 800? its a matshita cd-rw cw-8121. i tried the generic and it doesnt work. it says its trying to find a scsi drive, but its an ATA.

  2. yeah i saw that. the generic-mmc driver dosnt work. it lists teh matshita drivers as generic-mmc.

    Try leaving the burner's tray open while you launch cdrdao in the terminal, or if you have a slot loading drive, insert the disk just as the terminal launches.

  4. A couple of comments:

    Unless otherwise noted, the command strings are the same for both SCSI and ATA drives. CDRDAO does not report a difference and calls them all scsi. Apples IO Services takes care of the routing.

    To keep from have to time the insertion of the disk to the start of the Terminal, change the default settings in System Preferences/CDs & DVDs pane to "When you insert a blank CD: Ignore"
