My LimitDVD9090 requires that I put a time delay of 500ms on the mpegs to sync properly (for VCD, no delay for SVCD) so it may be the way your DVD player is processing the sound. Try making a test disc with say 8 tracks on it 30seconds long each track having varying delays of 250ms to suss out what your DVD player is doing?

You can adjust the audio delay in the Source Range window of TMPGEnc when encoding.
