I've been using DVDPatcher to fool Maestro into accepting SVCD sources for authoring. I've been setting the bitrate to 3.5mbits instead using the setting the original source has.
So far, I haven't had any issues (works on a variety of systems, including PS2's), but I was wondering if I should in fact be setting the bitrate to the original's pre-encoded rate?
Thanks.
AIR.

Not sure you will have problems leaving it as 3.5 but setting it the same as the soruce could save yourself hassle if anything goes wrong or if you want in future to put the files back to svcd..
Fantastic program aswell -
I think it doesn't matter. The value is simply re-wriiten in the mpeg headers (instead of the value written there by the encoder).
