I've been trying to do this for 2 weeks with not much luck. I have done all my capture and editing from my DV camera in Premier 6.0. I have exported my movie to a avi with the audio uncompressed as a PCM. When I use Sonic MyDVD everything works but quality is not good. When I use DVD WS Trial version everything ok untill finish I get message about mpeg audio not supported by stand alone dvd, I still proceed the disk plays fine on my computer but no sound on my Stand alone. The quality is great no blocks or anything. This also happens with Movie Factory as well. I have encoded my file with TMPGenc. I have read almost every post in the last 2 or 3 months and all the guides with no luck any help would be great.

Mpeg audio is part of the DVD spec. All my DVD players support it. I have seen posts that suggest that some DVD players do not support it. How would authoring program know that DVD player does not support mpeg audio?? Are your elementary streams m2v amd mpa?

My DVD player is a Toshiba that is less than a year old so I don't think its the player. When I play the disk authored in DVD WS in my stand alone it says the audio is mpeg when I play the disk from MYDVD it stays PCM (uncompressed). I'm new to DVD writing stuff i got my Sony DRU-500 for Xmas. Is there some way to set DVD WS not to encode the audio? Like I said I'm trying the Trial version and maybe that option is not available. Thanks for your response Wulf109

MyDVD only supports PCM audio for DVD,it will convert any audio you input into PCM. What is DVD WS? You might try SpruceUp for authoring. It supports ac3 and mpeg audio. I find it very easy to use and it has a very good help file.
