  1. I just read a thread where it said that you're supposed to get audio, as well as video while TMPGEnc is running.. The guide that I'm using doesn't instruct me to input an audio file.. Anyone? Please don't tell me I've bothced another process...

while its encoding you're not supposed to hear audio. if you want the end file to have audio you can input it in tmpgenc. or you can convert the audio in another program and then mux with the m1v or m2v file you get with tmpgenc.

  3. You you will not hear audio while TMPGenc is encoding/running, you will only see the video as it's processed.

The final MPEG should contain both audio and video. However, you need to tell TMPGenc what audio and video file to use. If you're encoding a DivX when you open the video source the audio source will be loaded as well.

  4. ....but be careful when encoding from a DivX source. Audio from DivX might get out of sync when encoding the MPG, if the original AVI was encoded with a variable bitrate. I always extract the audio from the original AVI as an uncompressed WAV file before encoding in TMPGEnc. Once that's done I make sure to point TMPGEnc to this 'new' audio source. No sync problems.
