DRX500ul (DRU500a) and RecordNow Max only at 1X?

I'm using the external firewire version of Sony's DRU500a. I've been using RecordNow DX burning to Verbatim DVD-R 2X media, and it successfully burns at 2X. However, when I try RecordNow Max (version 4.5) with the same media, it will only burn at 1X. In fact, no matter what media I use RecordNow Max will only burn at 1X. Has anyone else seen this? How do I get it to do 2X and above?

Try the following:
In RecordNow DX go to the "tools" selection in the top menu. Select "options" in the pull down menu. Make sure "Remember settings from the last time you started a job" is not checked. Set record speed to "MAX"

Sory... can't help you there... But what is difference between DX and Max ? A lot of people are talking about it as it is same but name difference make me think that it is not.

DX came with my Sony DRU500A and has only a Wizard interface with limited options.

Max has the full RecordNow interface with more options that you can select. Download the eval and check it out....

Sorry Peka but RecordNow DX have "full" interface too. Original RecordNow is only wizard. And maybe I will download Max... I just don't want to braje DX that I have now.

Hmmm, so what version of DX do you have? Mine is 4.50, but I actually can't see DX anywhere in the Help>About screen. Mine is the version that came with my DRU500A - is that where you got yours, and do you know if there's an upgrade?

You need to upgrade to get DX.
