  1. Hello, I would like to merge the two sides "A" and "B" (Stargate) into one single side of DVD-R. I know that most likely I will have to use TEMPGEnc to reduce the final file movie size ti make fit into 4.7GB DVD. However, the first step is to merge the vob files and the ac3 files from both sides.

    How can I do that?

    Thanks for helping.

  2. the easiest way is to rename the vob files so that side B vob files are numbered after side A. Like side A last vob file is vts_6.4 vob so you would rip Side B to a different folder and then rename them starting with vts_06.5 vob and so on. Combine all the vobs in one folder and you are all set. This will make it one movie.

  3. Sure you want to make it fit on one dvd5? If it were me, I would just put it on two dvd5 discs and have a 1:1 copy of the original wo/ compression.

  4. I have tried to place together and rename the VOBs sequentially. However, it plays well until 50% of the movie, then it get off sync (I believe this is because side “A” has some extra images, non part of the movie, in order to inform the person to turn the DVD over to side “B”).

As for the second suggestion, I know I can make 2 DVD, but, the idea is to have the full movie in one single side DVD. This way I don't need to get up in the middle of the movie and turn over the DVD or insert DVD 2.

Did anyone rip and re-encode this specific film in one single DVD (Stargate)? If yes please let me know your steps. And thanks for the suggestions.

If you rip in movie mode you'll get only the movie. You probably ripped the whole DVD,with extras. I merged LOTR onto one DVd-R by this method and it works perfectly.
