  1. I have Roxio Easy CD creator 5.1 Platium on a Dell 4400 with Windows XP. I installed VCDEasy 1.1.3 for burning SVCDs. So I had to install the aspi layer using forceaspi. VCDEasy seems to work fine. The only problem I have is once VCDEasy burns to a CD, Roxio no longer can access the drive. If I reboot then Roxio can access the drive again. I could not find any info about this on Roxio or cdrdao web sites.

I know most people on this site seem to be using Nero. I don't really want to switch to Nero because I am quite happy with Roxio for data and music CDs. I rarely burn coasters with it and I also like its labeller program. I don't like the VCD program in Roxio, but that is why I have VCDEasy which is great.

Is there any way to make Roxio and the VCDeasy/cdrdao co-exist together?

    Thanks
    Tim

I have the same problem. I have to reboot to use ECDC 5.32 after using VCD Easy. Another problem I found, and apparently fixed was that the ECDC 5.32 upgrade did not work until I updated the ASPI drivers to 4.71. I was hoping this would fix the ECDC vs VCDEasy problem, but it didn't. I'm still looking to find out what is causing the problem.

Follow-up. Haven't found a solution, but have sort of a workaround.

I find if that I burn a disk with ECDC first after a reboot, then I can burn a disk VCD Easy and go back to ECDC with no problem. Must be that CDRDAO gets to something first, but if ECDC gets it first, CDRDAO doesn't care.
