In the process of converting my DV tapes to DVD, I have created with Studio 8 and burned direct to DVD-RW to test first (i.e. I dont have the DVD files saved to hard drive)

I now want to burn onto DVD-R. How do I copy the DVD-RW to DVD-R ? I tried copying the files from the DVD-RW to my hard drive and then writing to the DVD-R using Roxio EasyCD but the resulting disc cannot be played in my standalone (although it works on the PC).

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

  2. Don't know about Roxio, but Nero can do this. Either do a disc to disc copy if you have a DVD-Rom as well as a DVD-writer in the same machine, or copy the files to your HD and write with Nero using either DVD-video mode or UDF/ISO mode, both should work.

I don't understand what you have done. Did you ever author the DVD?

    SLK001,

I authored the movie using Studio and burned to DVD-RW. It worked perfectly and so I wanted to copy the contents to DVD-R. Basically, I copied the VIDEO_TS folder with all contents to hard drive and then used Roxio to burn to DVD-R (using Data DVD mode). This worked on my PC but wouldn't play on my standalone (The DVD-RW did)

  5. use a program like recordnow max or nero that willmake it compliant when it sees a videots folder. I do not know if roxio makes it compliant if it sees u are making a dvd. The two I said will as long as u do not change the setting for it not to. Good luck. Had roxio long time ago but IMO it sucks for anything but a really new guy making Audio cd. Good Luck again and Have a Super Day
