  1. I just purchased a panasonic dmr-e30. I picked up some Memorex DVD-R, Single Sided version 2.0 When I put one in the recorder, it scans the disc and then displays "U11". If I press the record button, I get a message telling me that the machine can't record to the disc.

I have successfully recorded to the DVD-RAM disc that was packaged along with the unit.

Anyone have any ideas for me? Just try another brand of DVD-R? I found a website that lists Memorex DVD-R as a suggested accessory for the DMR-E30, so it surprizes me that they would be incompatable.

    Thanks in advance,
    slamotto.

  3. hi slamotto
i have my panasonic e30 for a few months and still get some u11 messages from different dvd-r disks. my memorex disks like you used seems to be okay. i found out that buying cheap disks doesnot pay. the panasonic disks work great. course they are not cheap. i found that if you keep trying the disk it will work sooner or later. clean the disk also. good luck.

  4. I have had very good luck with some cheap DVD-R in my pan e30s unit.
I either bought them from meritline or cdrdvdrmedia and they were probably around 80 cents each then in lots of 100.

They have a white surface and purplish dye on the obverse.
