  1. No one has mentioned this but is it possible to use the HS2 to capture analog then burn it to a dvd-ram disk and finally import it to the PC by using a dvd player that recognizes dvd-ram. If this is possible then the editing could be done and then copies could be made with a pc dvd burner.

I am not sure if this will work but the only thing I can think of that could go wrong is the format when the vidio gets to the pc. Will a conversion have to be made at some point?

Please give me some input on this.

  2. I'm not sure tyzak, but I'm actually going to try something "Similar", to what you are atempting very soon.

I'm going to try to take a DVD-RAM and run an S-Video cable form my DMR-HS2 to my PC's Video Capture Board and see if I can get ti to capture that way.

It's not a "True Digital" Capture since it has to be fed through an Anolog S-Video Cable, but it's close.

I HAVE NOT, and I can't stress that enough, HAVE NOT, attemptted this yet but I'm going to do so very soon.

If it works I will let you know, if not, I guess it's back to the drawing board, if you want to play a DVD-RAM on a DVD Player it's pretty hard, I haven't seen many DVD-RAM supported players, only DVD-RAM computer drives, but hopefully this will change soon.

I don't have an HS2 but I do know that it can be done. Do a search of the forums for things like DVD-RAM and .vro (the type of file that it will record). There are several threads on this.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
