Capturing with dc10+ but cant make a pal dvd

Hi,

I have captured some footage using my Studio DC10+ card at it's max resolution of 720x540 however when i go to convert it to mpeg2 using TMPGenc it states that it is an invalid resolution - what can I do?? I really need to be a ble to convert this to dvd so I can burn it on my Pioneer A03 dvd burner.

Any help appreciated and I apologise if this is a 'dumb' question

maximal resolution is 768x576, just DISABLE STUPID "TV CROPPING". This function destroy interlaced picture, do not use it.

Open file in TMPEG and set resolution to 720x576, interlaced (there is no conversion 540 to 576 lines as before). Then load DVD template and encode. It MUST work, i tested it for long time

Instead of using the pinnacle studio software to capture from your DC10+, try using avi_io or VirtualDub (info can be found on the tools section of vcdhelp.com). With avi_io and VirtualDub, you yourself can set the resolution to capture (720X576). 720X576 is an ideal source for converting to mpeg2 with cinemacraft encoder or tmpgenc (no rescaling has to be done).

Thanks guys I will give that a go. where can I get the Cinemacraft encoder from? is it better than tmpgenc??

Cinemacraft encoder is a commercial piece of software. You can find an evalution version (Lite edition) on http://www.cinemacraft.com or try http://dvdsoft.da.ru.
One big difference between cinemacraft and tmpgenc is the encoding speed. Cinemacraft is much faster. The produced quality of both encoders is good. Some people prefer the Cinemacraft encoder others prefer tmpgenc. When you want to use tmpgenc in combination with a video editing tool like Adobe premiere you should look at http://www.math.berkeley.edu/~benrg/avisynth-premiere.html.
