Ok, I've been around sor a while and have done my share of encoding converting, burning etc. I recently got a dvd burner though and am clueless about what I could be doing wrong. After trying myself and failing several times, I tried all the guides I found. I took the svcd file which was 2.1 gig and reencoded it in tmpgend to a dvd (I tried pal and ntsc). I then tried to burn these using the freeware tools method and with SpruceUp and Ulead DVD Movie Factory. when the movie burns and I put it in my dvd player if the picture and sound come up at all, it's in black and white and the picture is zoomed in and shifted downward. For example I won't even see the bottom bar of a widescreen movie. I have probably tried this 10 times now and they all work fine in my dvd on the computer but play neither in my pioneer dv343 nor my sony dvd player. The sony not at all... the pioneer couldn't play most except for a couple in black and white and zoomed in as mentioned above. I'm using a dvr105 and a dvdrw. Is it possible my dvd players just don't like dvdrw's?

Thanks
