dru500a firmware

i bought my dru500a from tigerdirect on 1-4-03 and mine came with the new firmware 1.0e already on it but the box is still the same it says 2.4x for dvd+r. just wanted to let everyone know.

1.0e ? It should be 1.0f.

no it came with 1.0e on all my recording software and with norton disc check and when it shows the ide at the startup of the pc it has 1.0e as the firmware but like i said it still says dvd+r at 2.4x.

1.0e was on web site only couple of hours. Maybe your drive was "return".

Has it been determined that 1.0e is a bad firmware? True, it was up for only a few hours and so people assumed that there was a problem with it, but I don't recall anyone definitively declaring that to be the case.

No, no, no.... I am assuming that drive must have been updated by somebody. I don't believe that Sony did that. But I might be wrong.
