    is there any news about editing DVD subtitles (sup format) or any else format for later authoring DVD

    If you want to edit the dvd subtitles or even get the times in order to translate it to something else... use SubRip > output SSA > and then you can edit all you want... After that use Maestro STB (I think that's the name) program and convert the SSA files to *.son (Maestro sub format). And that should do it...
