  1. When I convert divx to svcd, the picture is to high and to narrow when I look at it in windows media player. I also can't get it to fill upp the screen, like the divx did. If I change the source aspect ratio from 1:1 (VGA) to 4:3 625 line Pal it gets the right proportions. But I still can't get it to fill upp the screen.
Is this a problem or will the picture look alright when I burn it and watch it on the TV? How should I set the source aspect ratio?

WMP does not play DVD/SVCD. That is too say you may get a picture, but it's not the same thing. The real question is, how does it look on your TV+DVD player?

Try PowerDVD instead. It has to do with the differences between a computer screen and a TV screen. A DVD image should look a tad stretched.

Also, most widescreen movies won't 'fill up the screen'. The aspect ratio is wrong. A 16:9 movie is going to get letterboxed on your computer. You can get if full screen if your software player can do a pancan or on the fly conversion.
