  1. I recently downloaded a file that was in AVI format and would like to write it to VCD so that I can watch it on my DVD player and TV. I tried to use TMPGEnc-0.11.28.112 to convert it, but it gives me an error saying it doesn't support that file format.

Thanks for the help in advance!

  2. The avi may be a DivX film. Check if you have installed the DivX codecs. Check if you can play the av using for example Media Player. If the audio in the DivX is 48kHz mp3 then TMPGEnc doesn't like it. Extract it from the avi using VirtualDub and convert it to wav. You can do it in one step using VirtualDub or have a different program do the mp3 to PCM wav conversion.
Check out the guides under the howto section. They'll explain the steps above and how to use TMPGEnc. I'm sure you'll find all the info you need to do the conversion to VCD.
    Regards,

    Willem
