I am using IMGTool .89 which works with IfoEdit. The latest version 99.8 requires NERO 5.5.8 or later to be installed.

I have used the IMG tool in Maestro with no problems but I believe it is slower that using IfoEdit with IMGTool which is what I use now.

I use DVD Decrypter to burn from the IMG.

This forum has several messages on NERO and the correct settings to use and a comparison using DVD Decrypter to get the greatest compatibility on DVD players. Bottom line DVD Decrypter works in ALL players with no problems which I have found to be true in my limited testing of NTSC machines.

Creating an .IMG adds 10 minutes to the total time vs burning straight from the VIDEO_TS folder. Everyone has their favorite method for creating DVD's. Just find out which ones works best for your DVD players.

  3. Thanks joepic.

Have to agree, the extra bit of time is definitely worth it.

Tried both and IMGTool is faster like you said.

Couldn't burn as Data Disc, but no problem after making an image. Go figure.

Just use DVD Decrytper, ISO WRITE to burn your .IMG.

What am I missing? What is the advantage to making a disc image as opposed to a straight data burn, especially considering the extra time/effort?
