  2. Nice guide indeed.

But you can replace parts 1,2,3 if you use dvd2dvd-r. Then follow parts 4,5,6 to finish the job.

  3. It is a good guide. I just don't like using TMPGEnc to do the entire movie, as it appears (for me, anyway) to be alot slower than CCE. But it also might be my machine. I do use TMPGEnc alot for smaller files, tho (like menus).

One nice thing about it, tho, for a bigger file (like a movie) is with the wizard, it has a calculator built-in, so you can get the most out of the encode. I'm too lazy to do it by hand.

  4. That guide can cause problems.

The first step says to use DVDdecryptor in file mode. However, by doing it as shown, it can cause problems. I originally used that method to rip Matrix, and ended up with some repeating early in the movie which made the rip useless. The same thing would happen with SmartRipper's file mode.

I couldn't find anyone mentioning this, and absolutely no luck finding any reference to this repeating on the forums by doing searches, but I did some testing, and found a way to resolve the problem on my own. Here is the solution:

Go into the settings and set it to rip only 1 angle.

After doing that, I was able to rip Matrix with no problem. This was the first one I went to rip, so I doubt it's an isolated case. Needless to say, some of these guides are missing out on some important information.
