VCD header trick

I am trying to play SVCD on my DVD player but they won't play. I have just changed the header to 'trick'my DVD player BUT when I burn the disc using Nero do I burn as a VCD or SVCD?

hi super-saint,

the best way to overcome that would be to use wizard, it sorts that problem out for you so you dont have to worry about burning it as vcd or svcd, i have the same dilema as you my dvd player wont play svcd's so i use the header trick and burned the disk through wizard and bobs ur uncle, it works perfectly... oh and i dont know if you know this but when u drag n drop the new svcd with header trick it may give u a few options, like
1. turn off standard complaince
2. another which i cant remember and
3. cancel
pick the first and and start burning and then bobs ur uncle....

It should be burned as VCD.

I've posted a plugin for DVD2SVCD which will do everything automatically so you just have to burn a BIN/CUE image. It will also preserve your original DVD chapter information.

I followed the header trick and burned the cd fine...However, when i played it on my standalone dvd player, only the top half of the screen was visible...The bottom half is tugged underneath the tv. How can i fix this?
