Looking for a good capture device (USB2.0 or firewire) for capturing
VHS.

If you have a lot of VHS tapes you could purchase a firewire VCR deck such as a JVC HR-DVS2U on ebay for $500-$600, do your transfers, then sell it back on ebay. I did this except I made the mistake of buying my VCR new.
These decks will generally have a TBC (time based corrector) and other functions that will provide a cleaner capture than using a cheap VCR connected to an analog capture card. -
If thats not an option you could use the canopus advc-100 it rated the highest here on the site
