I'm considering getting the Kiss DP-450 DVD/DivX player at the moment as it seems to be just about the only player capable of DivX playback that I've heard anything about.
I own a couple of region 1 dvds and therefore would likely do the multiregion hack listed on these pages. The actual unlocking doesn't bother me as it seems relatively simple to do. However I'm just concerned as to whether there's any real risk that I won't be able to update to a newer firmware version - one that adds features/added support to the player. Say that Kiss could check to see if the drive has been modified or not
Basically I just want confirmation that with the multiregion hack that I'm altering just the firmware on the drive and that there is another firmware in the player that is the main one to be upgraded for the added functionality so that the multi region hack won't stop me from updating.
sorry if that's confusing but i'm sure someone can easily ease my mind.
thx in advance
