  1. So is there a software that can use padding stream and at the time of de-muxing fix dropped frames or change audio stream so it will match video stream ? My out-of-sync is about 0.5s in 1h30min so it is not that bad, but still.... it doesn't look good at the end of the movie.

  2. Not that I know of.

If you click on De-multiplex in TMPGenc you can see and even save the padding stream, but I have not found any program that will import it to keep sync.

If you have DVD Maestro, it has a "sync audio to video" option I think, but I think the audio file has to be AC3 for it to work from what I have read.

When I first got into video capturing, EVERY capture I made was out of sync by the 30 minute point. I discovered my BIOS had a bug in it which caused that problem, but I spend months and months trying to find a way to fix that kind of sync problem and never did find a solution other than re-encoding the captured file, which would sometimes still play out of sync, but usually would be back in sync.

  3. De-Multipex in TMPGEnc doesn't show padding stream.

I don't have DVD Maestro and audio is MPEG (or I can try capture PCM).

My capture card is external TV/Encoder connected to PC via USB cable. Can BIOS still be issue here ? Isn't that issue related to PCI cards ?

  4. Interesting,

I just looked at some other captures I made with the PVR-250, and it seems some show padding, while others do not. It might be that padding is added only when frames are dropped, so no padding means a good catpure, at least with my PVR-250. That may not be the case with you card.

The BIOS problem I had was actually that the BIOS was running all my Hard drives as ata33 only, not fast enough for my captures.

I am affraid you are wasting your time trying to re-sync an in sync at the start, and out of sync at the end capture however. In the last 3 years, I have NEVER been able to sync that sort of problem to my satifaction.

  5. Barnabas, Thanks... I'll try to waste some more time and see how it goes. At worst... it is only 0.5s

I just can't believe that there is no solution to this. I have to repeat this over and over again. Orignal file is in sync so why there is no software that can keep it in sync after de-muxing ? Evidently information that keeps it in sync is there. Why can't be same information used for de-mux ?

  6. Probably the original is NOT in sync, it only PLAYS in sync. That's prpbably what the problem is. As I stated before, your best chance for that file is to re-encode it in TMPGenc and see if that one stays in sync after.

There is just NO simple fix for that kind of problem, at least not that I have ever found.

What do you mean ? I don't get it... How can you say it not in sync when it plays in sync ? I tryed WMP, PoweDVD and some editing tools and it always plays in sync. Am I missing somthig ? If it plays in sync then there is something in the file that makes it to play like that. Am I right ???

  8. As I said,

I think it plays in sync, ONLY because of the padding, but the file has dropped video frames, so it's not REALLY in sync, as the audio and video are of different lengths.

If you re-encode that file in TMPGenc, the new file may still be in sync because TMPGenc used the padding from the source when it read it.
