  1. When capturing audio with ATI TV program, I am getting audio that is clean, but VERY loud. I tried adjusting with the Audio Properties>recording>tv and line sliders, but it is still too loud....any ideas?

    thanx

  2. Basically the audio input on a PC soundcard is too sensitive for direct connection to most hi-fi devices, videos or sat receivers. You will need to attenuate the audio by maybe 20dB to get a clean undistorted feed for your PC. The easiest way is to feed the audio through a mixer first. This is what I had to do with my ATI card.

Now I capture using a DV camcoder and realise just how crap the ATI AIW card actually is ... even the TV picture was dreadfull!!

  3. If your card uses an external loopback cable to feed the tv card audio into the sound card line-in, you can put an inline volume control in the audio feed to attenuate the signal.

    Something like this:

  4. You can use virtualdub to lower the volume of the audio. I thinnk it is done in "X" percentages....
