  1. Hello

I have been having trouble installing Win-TV PVR 250 on my system and wanted to get some help.

    I have a AMD 2200 (1.8Ghz), 512Mb RAM, 1-100G HD, 1-120GB Hard Drive. Windows XP

I installed the card into a free PCI slot, upon rebooting, New hardware found comes on, I insert CD and 2 options are present for drivers. One has the same name, but with "OLD.inf". I installed the other one, then went to the web site and downloaded the XP update, rebooted at each step, then installed the software, rebooted, opened the wintv application, went through the cable channel setup, it recognized the correct channels, and said there was stereo sound, but did not get any sound and did not get a picture. Then ran the software for the various overlays, but still no sound or picture. Found hardwareclear utility on the cd, ran that to uninstall the hardware and software, checked in device manager to see if it was recognized which it wasn't. Rebooted and then the install new hardware came up, this time I selected the other driver, and did the windows XP update, and again no picture or sound.

Uninstalled everything again and changed PCI slot, found new hardware and did the same thing and when I opened the application got a dat invalid error message. Then after reading their website, reinstalled the encoder rebooted, then got a different data invalid error message, but this was not listed on their website.

I know installing this has been difficult, checked out the adsharp website listed in the capture card section and did a search for installation of this in the forums and tried the suggestions, but nothing worked. Also the link to the drivers on the adsharp page was broken.

If anyone can help me get this card installed I would greatly appreciate it!!

    Thanks

  2. I looked at their web site and saw that if I have DVD player software on the computer, it may interfere with their decoder. I have uninstalled everything that can play MPEG (that I know of) and have reinstalled the card several times, but I get back to the same point where it scans the channels ok, but does not show picture or audio.

Is it possible that Studio 8 (Pinnacle) may be interfering?

I have downloaded all of their updates from their web site for hardware and software and nothing works.

Thanks in advance for any help
