I have the Pioneer DVR-105 Firmware 1.00. Would I need to upgrade the firmware to record at 2x?...thanks

I ordered some from PCClub and will have them tomorrow. We shall see.
MDP (?) reported in the 2x, 4x thread that 3 out of 4 burned at 2x and 1 out of 4 at 1x

Anybody try them out I want to get some, I have Riteks now but they only burn at 1X, I dont think their the same ones though.

well I got my order from PC Club but I can't upgrade my A05 to FW 1.21 so right now they burn at x1...
Has anyone had problems with that?
It recognizes the drive but then says "0 drives were successfully upgraded"...
I've got a Cendyne by the way but it's recognized as Pioneer by the FW utlity...

ok just upgraded to 1.21 and using the PC Club Ritek's (need to run info test) and it's burning at x1 in Prassi

Ok the PC Club Ritek's (RITEKG..03) do NOT burn at 2x on my A05 upgraded to 1.21. To make waters worse the discs feel much less solid than the STI's I bought at my local store last week...
