  1. I used to be able to run SVCDs on my computer but after installing some new programs and codecs it doesn't work. What do I need to do in order to get SVCDs to work again? I tried uninstalling all the codecs I could find, but that didn't work. I think there are probably some codecs I've installed that aren't uninstalling that have messed with my SVCD codec and now I don't know what to do.

    Please help!

Oh dear! I take it you didn't set a system restore point before you did all this. This is kind of a long shot but you could try installing the free MPEG-2 codec from the Maximus package http://www.maximusdvd.com/freedvdcodecs.htm this won't restore the codec's you were using, but it should let you play SVCD's again.
