    As a newbie could someone pls tell me the average size of a quality movie in avi form. It appears that I have been downloading films with half the frame rates missing ..hence half the file size...

    hi there

    i've got about 150 avi movie's and i can say the avverage filesize for a movie no longer than 2 hours is between 650 and 700 mb

    Resolution, bitrate, framerate, codec used/compression come into play as far as file sizes. Considering icesurfer's statement, I suspect he uses one of the DIVX codecs. When I capture 2 hours to Raw-AVI format using the HuffyUV codec at 352 x 480 resolution and 29.97 fps, the created file is approximately 25-30 gigs in size.
