    Ive tried a bunch of ways but it just wont work on the Hitachi DVD315U any tips? thanks

    I checked the DVD Players section for you. I suspect you may actually have a DVP315U. Many people were having problems with VCDs created on CD-R media. It seems to be very "picky" as to the type of CD-R. I suggest you try CD-RW media.

    I never could get any VCDs to play on my 315U, either. I must have made dozens of coasters trying to get as lucky as some of our fellow owners were by using certain types of media/programs. I advise you to go ahead and get a new DVD player, since the multi pickups are so reasonable now.
