.SSA to .SRT conversion gone haywire

I'm converting a subtitle script from .ssa to .srt, but all the programs cut out words and parts of phrases except for a program called ssa2srt.

But the SRTs created by ssa2srt must not be compliant as the file does have a number before each line and will not load in any other program.

Any help here would be appreciated.

Try this link. You can't download the prog, but you have to enter your ssa-file, push convert and then you can download it from there.
