You wanted to play backups without a modchip....its not possible.
You wanted an external modchip...one does not exist afaik.
You wanted to know where to buy a modchip...well obviously not here but you can buy one at dozens of internet retailers who specialize in this. Just do a web search.

Modchips themselves are not illegal but it is clear from your posts that you want to use them for illegal purposes. This is your own choice to make but you have to realize that this is not the place to discuss such things. If you want information about modchips you should really go to a web site which specializes in this...there are so many out there, why are you asking here?

Adam my final question was "What XBOX modchip turns off so I can use it with XBOX Live?".
That was never answered. Actually I don't intend to use them illegaly. I intend to use it for backups. I never once said I was gonna use a modchip for a bootleg copy. I also burn homebrewed games and I want to play them too.

Read the second news report. There is no modchip that has an on/off option but there are various ways to turn off your modchip manually.

I did a web search for "xbox turn off" and I literally found that info in about 5 secs. A search for "xbox modchip" gave me about 50 internet stores which sell various different kinds of xbox modchips. Its not that your questions are against the rules of the forum, its just that they are inappropriate. You wouldn't go to an xbox web site and ask how to make a vcd...even in its off topic section. You will get much better answers to these types of questions from an xbox/modchip related site
