Hello,
I am looking for a way to mux an .m2v and an ac3 file, the obvious way that everyone says is to use DVD Maestro. Some say to use IFOEdit in authoring mode.
Both of these are failing me, I am new to DVD Copying, but not to DVD to SVCD, been at it for ages now. I have managed to copy DVDs, using REMPEG and it doing the audio and the video together and producing a .m2v but I am not happy with the quality, obvious digitization when quick movements. To be honest my SVCDs done with TMPGENC at 2 Pass VBR, High Quality are far superior.
Thus I have used TMPGENC to produce the .m2v file and have left the .ac3 file alone. The ac3 file was produced byDVD2AVI. ( I know I could have had TMPGENC, process the Audio & Video, but I don't want to mess with the Audio).
So I have ripped the ac3, with DVD2AVI and I have made a decent .m2v file in TMPGENC.
So I try to remux in DVD Maestro.
However, DVD Maestro just rejects any MPEG or .m2v file, it simply says
"Media Not Supported Error " (0xc10b002).
When going in to DVD Maestro, I get a message saying
"Real Time Preview functionality will not be available because no decoders have been detected (0x410a0011)"
----
IFOEdit 095, in the authoring mode simply crashes when I try to get it to mux. I have tried running it in compatability mode etc, but no joy, every time just crashes.( I have heard stuff about XP).
Any other muxes?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

the error for realtime player means you need cinemaster 2000 installed but their is no great need for it if you are just doing the movie.
as for the m2v file i couldnt help you only to say it does support m2v.
thingimijig.
forgot to mention i use maestro and im running xp pro -
I have been trying to get my VOB demo's of Dobly Digital and THX to author them someway to add chapters so I can drop them in a DVD+R, love to hear the 5.1, nothing so far I have used will see the VOB's, I split the video/audio to m2v and ac3, but nothing so far will see the ac3 audio files, not even cce 2.5, I don't want to turn this into a MPEG2 files cause I want the ac3 intacted, I would interested if anyone has gotten a m2v and ac3 ported over onto a DVD with menu's and or chapters, I really don't care about menu's more interested in getting chapters done.

In my attempts to use TMPGENC, I am so used to making SVCDs. I created a MPEG2 System Stream (Audio & Video), instead of Video Only.
One thing I may ask, is in TMPGENC, MPEG Setting, GOP structure, Force picture type. Why is this needed, i've not needed it before for SVCDs.

Have you tried using Smartripper to rip a separate ac3 file? I've had very good success in ripping a movie to separate .m2v and ac3 files. I use DVD2AVI to frameserve to TMPEGenc to reduce the video file to fit a DVD-R. Using DVD Maestro 2.9 (works for Windows 2000 or XP) it supports the ac3 5.1. I've tried version 2.5 and it is not compatible with Windows 2000 or XP.
