I need the Mintek DVD-1600 remote control codes. Anybody know what these are and can help me out? Need them to program my Universal remote. Sent request to Mintek Digital but have either been ignored or they are slow to respond. Thanks for any help.

Let me get this straight you purshased a universal remote and you wanna operate your mintek DVD1600 with it....
if your remote didn't come with the numbers for this particular brand (Mintek that is) then there isn't much we can do...
sorry if my info doesn't help! -
Actually, I bought a wide screen TV (Sony) and I am able to control all of my other devices (VCR, SAT-TV, etc) with the TV remote, which is programmable, if you know the Manufacturers' code. There was a rather large list included in the Sony manual but Mintek was not listed. I was hoping to get a reply from someone who has either hacked the code or knew what it was to program it into the remote.

Just got a reply from Mintek:
"Because Mintek is new to the market, there isn't a universal remote that
comes pre-coded to control our units (there also isn't a brand IR signal
that you can emulate). There are universal remotes available that will
allow you to program it (learning remotes), with the use of the original
remote. See http://www.remotecentral.com/features.htm for more
information. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask."
I take it that they don't have a code number yet and so the only thing you do is use a learning remote and beam the codes from the original remote. I guess I'll have to wait until they are issued a code number then program it in. -
Be careful if you decide to get a learning remote, some companies call their remotes 'learning' when they're not, and say they learn by programming the code. Needless to say a bunch of crap intended to catch the 'learning is better, but I don't really know what it is' crowd unprepared, but also can get those really looking for learning that don't expect companies to lie to them to sell products..
Learning should be around $30ish, worth the extra $10 if you have something that needs it. If it's less then really double check the 'learning' part.

Thanks for the tip Alan69. I think I will just use the original remote and hope that Mintek issues a code soon.
