If I compress a example Divx movie to a Divx movie again,then the size will get shorter and can I then use it to fit one CD,burning it to a regular vcd without any problems?

That doesn't make sense. If you convert to VCD anyway, why would you want to make the DivX file smaller??? You do know that you have to convert your movie to a VCD compliant MPEG1 stream, do you? You can't just burn an AVI on a CD and expect it to run in a standalone DVD player.
