  1. Okay, I've spent some time here going through all the guides. I really appreciate all the time and effort people give to this community.

However, while this may be a stupid question, I'm going to ask it anyway.

I have a .AVI capture and I'm trying to convert to MPEG so that I can edit it in ULEAD Movie Factory. I followed the guides, but TMPGEnc only splits the the file into and m2v and wav files (I actually edited the sound into another .wav file that I intended on using). Because Movie Factory does not understand the .m2v extension, how do I get to use the converted file? Do I simply rename it to .mpg? Then I can add the separate .wav file later, right? Please help. Thanks.

i don't use ulead products but generally you wouldn't encode to mpeg first - THEN - edit your video ... as then you would need to re-encode ..

you would edit your avi and wav in your video editor , then encode as the final step ..

  3. Thanks for your input. You are absolutely correct on that. I never looked at it that way.

For those who use Ulead products, once I am finished editing the .avi, then I re-encode, does WorkShop recognize the .m2v and will it burn it with the separate .wav file? Thanks again.
