  1. When I do the VCD header trick Nero and VCDeasy (or the muxing maybe?) seems to set the bitrate to half of the original and after burning the movie gets twice as long and stutters a lot. Ex: A 4 minute movie gets 8 minutes long. MPEG tools in VCDeasy gives this information:

    Before header trick:

    MPEG2, PlayingTime=244.793s, Bitrate=2820kbps, PtsOffset=0726s, 36568 packets

Video Stream: Motion Video, 480x480, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 2520kbps

Audio Stream: Audio Standard MPEG layer2 Stereo, 44100Hz, 229376bps

    After header trick:

    MPEG1, PlayingTime=244.777s, Bitrate=1411200bps, PtsOffset=0833s, 36594 packets

Video Stream: Motion Video, 480x480, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 2520kbps

Audio Stream: Audio Standard MPEG layer2 Stereo, 44100Hz, 229376bps

I've created the mpeg2 with the SVCD NTSCfilm template in tmpgenc.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

  2. Hence "trick".

It doesn't work for everything. If your player supports standard SVCD, you should just make that. If it supports neither SVCD or an XVCD with a SVCD-spec MPEG muxed with the VCD header, then I suggest trying XVCD with off-spec MPEG-1 files (or god forbid) a standard VCD.

VCDXMINFO isn't that good at determining the specs of funny encoded/muxed MPEG files but this isn't really part of your problem.

    Regards.
