I have an SVCD that I split into three pieces with mpgtx. The first chunk is fine and there is no problem when authoring to burn. The other two seem to have some blank frames at the beginning and I cant author the .img files either because every app I've tried says there's an error with the file. Is there a way to fix the MPEG so I can author them for burning?

There is a tool called MPEG Corrector that might help in some cases. It is very easy to use since it doen't even have one single option.
Sounds like your SVCD source file is okay, though. Try splitting it with TMpegEnc, normally this works fine. Maybe it gives you correct MPEG files. Remeber to set Type to MPEG2 SuperVideoCD.There are only 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand binary
and those who don't.
